How to get the best out of the search engine
We have designed this search engine specifically for church-based fundraising, which means that it works differently from traditional grant funding databases.
You must answer all the mandatory questions (marked with a *) before you see any results. Once you have ticked the boxes asking what kind of church you are and where you are (e.g. listed, Church of England, in the Diocese of Gloucester) it will show you all of the possible funders for your church.
You can then restrict your search further by indicating whether your project is for repairs or alterations. This will probably reduce the number of results you see because many funders (particularly those that specialise in listed churches) will not fund alterations.
Our advice is that if you are at the beginning of a project and want to get a sense of how many funders of all sorts there might be for your church, leave this section ‘unclicked’. If your project is well developed and you know what you are looking for, click the box because you will get more precise results.
